Hello my crafty friends today I'm back with page 3 from my card inspiration journal, I am so happy to bring you another idea for me and for your card making.
I wasn't able to post this video last week as I was super busy and had a couple of days off work as it was my birthday. I was very lucky to go out for afternoon tea with my other half which was lovely, I think it was the first time we've been out in about a year.
If you don't know what I'm up to, I had this idea that I wanted to create a reference guide for my card making, so this could be in combination of stamps, layouts, Ink and paint colours so on. So I decided to create my own style of journalling where I can create a journal that inspires me for my card making, then I would always have a reference of stamps, inks, stencils and other items I have used for a project. I am calling this Card Inspiration Journalling.
What is card journaling? This is my concept of journalling It is a mash up of card making and mixed media journaling but the important part is that you log everything you use in your log it book. My "log it" books are available, the links on my website.
This is page #3
The delusions stencil I used worked really well for that uneven finish that I really like, then tearing the paper just adds another texture to the project. I could've used any colour embossing powder but for me I felt the gold was the best kind of tone to work with the page.
You will often find me painting with my inks by smashing them out onto a washable surface and adding water. This just adds another dimension to your ink products and the way you can use them.
If this is something that interest you why don't you give it a go too.
I really love working with large flower stamps, they lend themselves to so many techniques from water colouring, heating bossing, stamping onto vellum and using to create your backgrounds, are just a few. Large flower stamps can really become a focal point of your card to draw the eye into your creativity.
The Tim Holtz tiny text stamps set is such a versatile and easy stamps set to use I love how you can create your own sentiments by using several of them together like I have done here. You can create such an uplifting message to someone.
