Dinosaur Bunting using your ScanNcut.

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

This is a lovely personalised addition to a little ones new room or would look fab at a dinosaur themed birthday party.

You will need:

  • ScanNcut or other cutting

  • Card in the colours of your choice

  • Foam Pads

  • Glue or Red Tape

  • Twine

Step 1 - Cutting your Bunting on your ScanNcut

• Open your CanvasWorkSpace and create a new project.

• In your Pattern > Basic > there is the scallop edge square and bunting shapes that I have used to create my bunting, resize to your requirements, my bunting is about 3.5” x 4.5” and my scallop edge square is about 3” x 3”.

• Cut out the amount you need for little ones name plus 2 more for the ends of your bunting, I have cut 12 out for mine.

• Add a small circle in the top corners on your bunting to thread your twine through (you could use a hole punch for this if you're not confident positioning them onto the bunting in canvas workspace).

• Cut out your scallop edge square and bunting in the colours of your choice.

Step 2 - Cutting your Letters on your ScanNcut.

• Open your CanvasWorkSpace and create a new project.

• In your Pattern > Text, choose a font, type little ones name and size to fit in your scallop edge square and cut in a colour of your choice.

Step 3 - Fun Ends

I have used a dinosaur SVG file that is free for personal use but there are lots of fab designs already installed on the ScanNcut machine, from flowers, butterflies, dinosaurs, cars and many more so find something that works for you. (since making this project I have been unable to find where I sourced the T-Rex SVG dinosaur but there are plenty of alternatives to choose from from some fantastic free websites)

Step 4 - Assemble your Bunting

• I have used double sided tape to attach my scallop edge square to my bunting shapes (you could use glue).

• I have used foam pads to add dimension to my letters.

Step 5 - Twine

Lastly thread up your bunting with twine. All finished and ready to put up, enjoy.
