Moss Hand Embroidery Project.

How to make a Moss Embroidery Project.

This project combines the classic art of hand embroidery with a modern contemporary style to make a lovely addition to your home decor. My aim with this piece was to create a piece that took you to the Forest, with this moss like look and colours and texture, it's like bringing the garden indoors. This project would make a timeless present or decoration for any home.

You will need: • Embroidery threads in several greens

• Embroidery Hoop • Embroidery needles • Felt 7” x 7”

• Felt green

• Green wool • Fake Moss • Scissors • Lace trim • Glue gun

Step 1 - Place the felt into an embroidery hoop.

Step 2 - To create a raised area use some wool in green to build up that area. To give the piece more dimension continue working the wool over itself to create the hill effect.

Step 3 - To create the look of moss on your piece use the French not over the complete surface of the wall. You can work in several tones of green to give a more realistic look to your moss.

Step 9 - Cut a strip of felt approximately 2” x 1”. Apply some glue at each end and place on the back at the top of the hoop. This will act as a hook for hanging.
