This is a fun project for all the family, you could all have a matching t-shirt. The rainbow symbols our support for the amazing key workers, it unifies us all and also brings out a smile for all.
You will need:
Embroider threads in rainbow colours
Embroider needle
Frixion Pilot Pen (is removed by heat)
Sewing Scissors
Embroider hoop
Plain white t shirt
Step 1 -
Print out the rainbow pattern and trace on to the t-shirt with a Frixion Pilot Pen.
(The Frixion Pilot Pen is like a gel pen but your marks will disappear when heat is applied to it from ironing.)
Step 2 -
Place the front of the t-shirt in to an embroidery hoop, this will keep the t-shirt tort and it will be easier to stitch.
Step 3 - Start on the end of the outer semicircle, with a red thread stitch along the line using a stem stitch to make the red line for the rainbow. next repeat this step for the rest of the rainbow changing the colour to match the rainbow colours.
• Red • Orange • Yellow • Green • Turquoise • Blue • Purple
Step 4 - Remove from the hoop and iron to remove the pattern marks.
